Text Box: I went to the Arizona International Auto Show on Thanksgiving, trying to get a little exercise in before enjoying some turkey. The convention center remodeling brought all displays under one roof, but clearly there were fewer than usual. No concept cars, and few new models to boost about. Sadly, it was the first year without Pontiac.

I'm sure Oldsmobile fans can relate, but Pontiac enthusiasts like us know the brand was special: tri-power GTOs, fuelie Bonnevilles, 455 H.O. Trans-Ams, the elegant Grand Prix. It really was about excitement. And we'll miss it. But clubs like ours are meant to keep the Pontiac legend alive and well. We have some fun events coming up in December and January. While the rest of the country is in a deep freeze, we'll be out enjoying the weather. Bring your favorite GTO with you. Check our Web site each week (www.cactusgto.com) for updates on upcoming events, car shows, special events, etc. If you miss a meeting, you can always check our meeting minutes in the "Members Only" section.
