Text Box: Dear club members,
I think everyone at our last Cactus GTO Club meet on May 26 would agree: our Project GTO workshop was a success.
We brought together club members who detailed the steps they took to restore their GTOs, and mechanical and restoration experts to talk about their services and the quality of their work.
Text Box: Special thanks to our vendors:
Ray Baumgardner, R&M Classic Auto Werks - Al Freehauf, the Radio Doctor - Glenn Gibbons/Glenn's Garage - Ralph Schulte Jr./Vyne Powder Coating
You can find all their contact details on our site here. Plus, special thanks to club members Jim and Karen Zeivel and Tony D'Angelo for their well done presentations. We had over 25 members and their guests attend the meeting.
Before our next meeting on September 8, we have our annual Summer Splashdown Party at the Neumann's. Come cool off by our pool with your favorite drink and some great food. We hope you can attend. RSVP to Mark at 602.653.5074 or newsmark@cox.net.
Text Box: At our first Board meeting after Board elections, we appointed new officers (view club leadership page) and assigned new committees.
We welcome Jason Maklary as our newest Board member.
Lastly, we all had a great time at our "Bowling for Horsepower" event with the AZ Classic Chevelle Club on June 12. Club members Tim and June Smith, Bill McCoy, our event leader Dan Huskisson, Thom Mohr, Murray Nevin, Steve Groce, and myself all threw some great strikes and spares. After the bowling, we all went out for eats and shared some stories with the Chevelle Club members. Everyone had a great time. Look for our next competition with the Bow-Tie club in August. Stay cool! ~ Mark Neumann
